Dr. Wenjie Peng is a current associate professor of the Shanghai Center for Systems Biomedicine (SCSB) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Nankai University in 2001, and obtained his Ph.D in organic chemistry from Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) and Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, CAS in 2006, under the supervision of Prof. Xiuwen Han and Prof. Biao Yu. He then joined the laboratory of Prof. Todd L. Lowary in Glycomics Institute of Alberta at University of Alberta as a postdoctor, where his research focused on chemical synthesis of complex oligosaccharides. In Jan 2010, Dr. Peng joined the Consortium for Functional Glycomics (CFG) and Prof. James C Paulson laboratory at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) as a research associate, where he focused on the design of new version of glycan microarray to explore the biological function of complex glycans in the process of virus infection and human immune response. In 2015, he was promoted to teh Staff Sciensist of TSRI. In 2018, Dr. Peng started as a principal investigator in SCSB at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His current research interest focuses on chemical glycobiology.
